Sewage Stinks! We are Here to Help

5/4/2022 (Permalink)

Sewage can enter a home in a number of ways. Water will seek the lowest level, if the level of sewage or floodwater is higher than the drains in the home, such as those in the basement, a backup can occur. A sewer backup occurs when something blocks the normal flow of wastewater from your house to the sanitary line. Septic systems can back up if the system is covered by water. Rapid and excessive storm drainage can cause water and sewage to back up into your home. There are several factors that can contribute to a sewer backup, including:

  • Aging, broken or collapsed sewer systems and lines
  • Too much rainwater or melted snow entering the sewer system at once
  • Tree roots entering sewer lines
  • Blockages In sanitary mains or blockages within your home or business
  • Sump pump failure

Sewage not only can damage building components and flooring, it also has high concentrations of bacteria, protozoans and other pathogens that can pose serious health risks. If this happens call the professionals at SERVPRO of Pasadena/Gibson Island/Lake Shore. We have the training, protective gear, and specialized equipment necessary to safely clean these messes, and return you home to “Like it never even happened,” condition.

We are doing our part to help keep Pasadena, Lake Shore, Gibson Island and the rest of Anne Arundel County safe! Rather than sell several of our franchise vehicles outright and make a profit, we donated them to the Anne Arundel County fire department to use for training! These vehicles were past their usable life for us, but could easily save the lives.

The AACO Fire Department used these vehicles to practice their lifesaving extraction skills.  Different scenarios involving motor vehicle accidents were acted out and the firefighters were able to practice and improve their skills.  The Anne Arundel County Fire Department's mission is to stand ready as an all-hazards organization to assure the safety of our communities. It is our pleasure to assist them in reaching this goal. Exercises such as this are invaluable to improving performance and the likelihood of saving a life. SERVPRO of Pasadena/Gibson Island/Lake Shore #Here2Help.

It was held at Kurtz's Beach, and was a great success even in the middle of the pandemic. We would like to thank them for sharing the spectacular setting for our event and the delicious food. Sandi Parrish, PBA Executive Director, and Christine Richardson, President of the PBA put in untold hours, to make this event a success, which we recognize and appreciate.

We hope everyone that were able to attend had a great time! The food and company at the event were truly amazing. We are hopeful that next year, with the global pandemic behind us, we will be able to have more of our friends and family join us for an even bigger fundraiser event.

Thanks everyone, that donated to the Silent Auction, and helped raise money to support students in the Pasadena school systems. We are truly blessed to be part of such a great association and community.
