DON’T LET LEAVES CLUTTER THE GUTTER OF YOUR PASADENA HOME!

Did you know? Clogged gutters can lead to roof leaks, foundation damage and even a flooded basement?  When a Lake Shore homeowner found moisture in their attic they called SERVPRO of Pasadena/Gibson Island/Lake Shore to help with the clean up and dry out. We cleared out the wet insulation and dried the structure. To help prevent your home  from being in this predicament you should clean your gutters at least twice a year. Your spring yard cleaning should include a close look at your gutters. 

Gutter cleaning has it’s own worries, some things to consider as you take on this task are:

• Ladder placement and reliability, make sure the legs of your ladder are on solid ground.
• What your wearing, can your clothes get caught on something as you move up and down the ladder?
• Vertigo, do you lose your balance easily? Are your healthy enough to be on a ladder?
• Check for overhead electrical wires, lines carrying power to your home can be very close to the gutters, take care when working in this area.
